You can get money back only

when you can prove you have loss due to his/her mistakes.

You did not say how and what your financial loss due to the agent. Could you show evidence you have big loss (like over priced house).

If you file complaim, the local board or real estate commission will have hearing, both side can have attorney to represent him/her. It is like legal issure, if you win, he/she will lose license and pay you three times of what your loss. But if he/she win, you may need to pay all attorney fees and hearing cost and may be 3 times also.

I am not rovide legal advice. Just my 2 cents. You need to ask an attorney before doing so.
