My U.S. immigration lawyer said it is NOT illegal to apply both Canadian permanent residency and U.S. permanent residency at the same time. It will not affect my 485 got approved. But it is difficult to keep both green cards in the near future because U.S. green card holder needs to stay in U.S. for more than half year.

I am not sure whether or not I should believe my lawyer and do nothing now. Canadian green card just is our back up. We really worry about this matter will affect our I485 approved.
