Here is my several years experience.

1)Go to court for an experinece/learning. My first time is 心驚膽顫. Later, not a big deal.
2)There is chance that the case is dismissed because the police may not go to court for various reasons - training, sick, etc..
3)There are three options in my state. a)guilty b)not guilty c)guilty with explanation. If you admit a) or c), you are finished.
4)Try to reschedule the court date a couple of times. The police may forget the case detail or bring the paper when you finally show in court, then the case is dismissed.
