Here is my understanding -
If your purpose is to avoid the probation, a will is enough. You can pay several hundred of dollars to counsel a lawyer to draft a will or use a will software such as WillMaker and then notary the will.
If your assets is less than a couple of millions, a trust is not necessary coz it is expensive to manage a trust.
Will is enough, not necessarily a trust
