That is also why there is a statute of limitation for almost every crime, even for unpaid taxes. To the extent the law cannot get you, you should not volunteer to pay a price for it. Otherwise, the law will always screw nice people.

The bottom line is if you can get away, do it. Otherwise, you are just being stupid.
