Pay $138 fine at court and request court approval for you to go to traffic school, and pay another $100 or so for a traffic school 8-hour study course and get a certificate of attending the school, and either give the certifcate to the court clerk and have your point removed, or post the certifcate to the court and ask for removal of your point.

If you really want to avoid the fine and one point in your record, ask the court to give you another trial date so that the officer could not attend your trial (pray for this to be the case), and you will prevail automatically if he fails to show. Usually the officer will ask court for a trial date when he is of duty so that he can attend the trial and collect $25 per conviction (he may have 10 or more tickets issued by him to be tried at that date).

Your clean driving record helps but that does not lend too much help during trial. Even if the officer got the street names wrong when he caught you, he may look at the ticket prior to his testmony and correct himself. For you to prevail, you need a map clearly showing the relevant streets, and use this to reject his claim if he does repeat the same during trial.
