I really don't know. I read the Hertz insurance policy before and after we rent. It said something like" The liability is mainly for the third party claim. The driver or any authorized drivers or their relatives are not convered." In my understanding, this exception is only suitable on the real person who is driving in the accident. It is no difference from the other car liability insurance. I don't know how the Hertz explain their policy by rejecting to pay the passengers in the same car with me. Actually, just after the accident, the Herzt agreed to pay and said to me "it is a good case because I have bought every insurance and there is nothing to worry about". The liability even covers my hu*****and. But later, the Hertz changeed to a different agent and she says no to now.
