I just don't get you people, always finding people to blame

Why should the leasing office be responsible? The are responsible only if they are part of the crime. It is the thief who is responsible.

Insurance? check the effective time of the policy. Your car is stolen either before or after that deadline.

Other than the thief, blame youself perhaps for not locking up the car properly.
