做義工不拿工資，但不一定不拿錢。 When you volunteer for some non-profit organizations, you may get checks as financial assistance or tuition assistance or whatever they choose to call. Who gets them and how much one gets depend on each organization. Those monies are similar as welfare cash assistance; therefore, you may not have to pay taxes (I did not say you do not have to report them on you tax return form).
