Call your ins company to file a claim

your insurance company will ask you how the accident happened and many other questions, provide them the information as much as you can. Also ask them what to do next. Bear in mind, your ins company stands on your side. You don't need to talk to the counterparty's company because if what you said to them is different from what you said to your company, you might bring unnecessary problems. When I had accident last time, even the counterparty's company called me, I asked them to contact my ins company.

The most important thing is to get the police report ASAP. If possible, take some photos or videos of accident scene. When you talk to the other party, just collect their insurance info, don't say anything else, dont complain or argue or do anything else.
