it's an issue of state law, you should check the weksite of your state goverment.
Generally, some states have something called "Uniform Parentage Act" (seach this on your state gov. website)--the gist of the act is that parent and child relationship extends equally to every child regardless of the marital status of the parents.
You will have to bring a paternity action to have your BF adjudged as the father by a court. Then, he will be responsible for the child support. I think the worst is that, if you don't do anything, and have the child, and bring the child up by yourself. This BF, as a biological father, can essentially come to court anytime to have himself adjudged as the father--then, he will have all the rights to the child as a legal father including custody, and others..
