I had those collections before.
I changed car insurance company. One year later, the old one sent me a bill for some $200 and three months later, collection. I happened throuh the new insurance paper awy after half year past,and couldn't prove I did changed. I tried to call the new company but they said it was too late to issue the old paper. For more then 6 months, I received the lettle every month, what could I do? I don't pay what I don't owe. They report me or not, I didn't know. I know, my credit was OK, later on by doing refinance - 760.
The bank told me, they pay more attention to the bank loan, credit card bill, if or not you have any late payment.
