I had my mother-in-law coming over last weekend. We haven't been in a good relationship. For some trivial matters, she kept nagging and consulting me. I replied:"Are you crazy or nuts?" She jumped up and threw her outrange immediately and came up keeping hitting me. I didn't dare to hit back since I knew if I did then things would go uncontrolled.
But I need some protection at least. I'd like to know if the same case happens again what I should do. If there are no obvious evidence of being hurt(she hit me by head). If I call the police, will the police take care of this? Will they have the right to evict her out of my house?(I can't ask her to leave since she came here to visit her son, my hu*****and). She definitely needs some warnings or punishments to stop acting like this. She is an aggressive and ugly woman. She has nothing to worry about. But I have work and children.
Please give me some advice. What should I do if she hit me again? How can I call the police and how the police would deal with this?
