1. Most likely it is a miscommunication problem. It was lack of common sense that you signed a contract and thought the contract would be void without your cancellation.
2. Legally you were at disadvantage. A contract is a contract. 空口無憑，立字為據。
3. You may ask them a favor to cancel that contract.
A sincere, positive attitude will help to resolve the problem.
4. There is no evidence that you were discriminated against due to race. Play racial card will backfire.
5. Even if this problem cannot solve in your favor, please take it easy. Life goes on. You have more impotant things to do. You will not sign a contract without known your responsibility in the future.
