Please help!

While we were working oversea last year, we have someone to live in our house just in case something went wrong. He did not pay us any rent and did nothing to benefit us financially.

He broke our washer since he asked if he could use the washer and dryer.

He promised to get it fixed, but he just talked about it and has no seriouse action plan to get it right, what should we do? Is there an organization we can turn to get some help?
