It depends if this will affect her green card application. You need to find the criminal code of your state to see the sentence of her charge. Her charge should be under shoplifting or theft (with different degree depending on value). If the sentence will not be in prison for more than one year, she is OK for her green card. She must admit at the interview of I-485. Otherwise she will be denied for her green card for sure becasue she committes the crime (assume that the court will rule her for paying fine) and lies to the CIS. Usually she will not be punished to be in prison. But definitely will be paying fine, the value of goods she stole, and court fee. May be plus hours of community service.
