小孩在中國住報稅時能作DEPENDENT嗎？

2005兒子在國內爺爺奶奶家住了大半年, TAXCUT說不能作DEPENDENT。可是IRS怎麽能知道
呢？ 請問哪位有類似情況報小孩作DEPENDENT的嗎？
