If your employer is a nonprofit tax-exempted organization, that employer is exempted from paying income tax to the government. But, all the employees working for that organization are not exempted from paying income tax. You will need to pay income tax as those people working for organizations for profit. Your employer is exempted from tax does not mean its employees also free from tax. When you received income from an employer nonprofit or for profit, you are subject to income tax except for those terms in the US-China tax treaty.
