take it easy

It is Amazon's problem for being unable to ship your items together.
In your case, you get free shipping for the item shipped and it
is the end of story. Amazon lets you change your order, they could
charge you shipping if they want to by letting you know about
the consequence of your cancellation. Tell your friend to move his
nose out of the books once in a while.
