I supposed you hold F1 in 2003 (that's the reason that you can work with your OPT). Please read pub 519 very carefully. As a F1, you are an exempt indivisual. That means the days you were in the United Stated will not be counted for the substantial presence test, unless you have stayed in teh united states for more than five years. So you were a NA in 2003. Please refer to pup 519, p4-7 to check out your status.
