The issue is that for a successful mediation, both parties have to have good faith and honest in marriage and try to solve problems. If one party does not want to stay in the marriage anymore but for some reason has to stay, the mediation will fail. Things other than psychology, such as insantity, or pure mental problems, mediation can not solve those either.
