Is police report a final say in deciding responsibility of car a

I was in an accient on highway not long ago. I was driving at the right side
of a pickup truck at the position of it's blind spot. It suddenly cut into my
lane, I truned to right( it was not the best thing to do, but things happened
so quick), then I lost control of direction and crushed onto the curb, my car
rolled over. My hu*****and and I were injured. The driver of that pick up truck
stopped and walked back to the scene. He said he "swing away" from his lane.
My hu*****and and I were briefly questioned by the police and were rushed into ER
. Now the police report came out with a totally different story. There was
even a witness in the report that says I was changing lane which is totally BS
. Moveover, in the prelimiary report, the other driver was listed as party
involved, in the official report, he was listed as witness. The CHP explanins
that it is because his car has no impact with mine. I am so pissed off. The
other driver's insurance company has already agreed to pay us car rental cost
and medical bills. I am afraid now they are going to change their mind. Does
anyone know how important is the police report in deciding the responsibility?
