Your full benefit is likely around $3000 a month, if you retire at 60, 1) you are only entitled a percentage of your full benefit (the early you retire, the smaller the %); 2) $3000 in 30 year is probably just $1000 today. Work harder and longer, man, you don't have much choice if you rely on Social Security.
