BTW, that male friend of your female friend is stupid and think too much too about his own issue. Because, if he is applying an unsecured credit card, all that concerns a credit card company is his credit history, which does not include the amount of his savings; if he is applying a secured credit card, as long as he deposits enough secured money as credit card company -- here it is his bank -- required, he will get the card for sure with credit limit of the card not over the amount of his secured money, and nobody will care about any other parts of his savings.
