traffic ticket for red light v

Hi, I got a traffic ticket for red light violation by a police. Actually I passed the intersection on yellow light but the police said when he saw my car passing the middle of the intersection the light is red. I disagreed with him. He told me that I could contest by appealing on the court and scheduled the court time. Is there any chance that I can win the case? What kind of material I have to prepare?
If I appear on the court how much I NEED TO PAY to the court if I fail the case.
How much is the fine for red light violation?
