依據加州 (criminal PENAL CODE SECTION 837) 一般公民可以在下列三種情況下執行逮捕的行為)

837. A private person may arrest another:
1. For a public offense committed or attempted in his presence.
2. When the person arrested has committed a felony, although notin his presence.
3. When a felony has been in fact committed, and he has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested to have committed it.

您所提的情況並不包含在上列的三種情況中，除非對方的行為威脅到您的生命，拰您"或許"可以適用的一部份的規定，尤其重要的是在這條法令中並沒有取消當事人對執行歹捕人將來可以經由civil procedure 取得賠償的權利，所以老貓建議您不要冒然行動，以免對方不旦沒事，您反到因為行為過當而需要負擔大筆醫療賠償
