Disability is protected against employment discrimination.  This is the law. 

Now you just have a sick employee, you are not required to accomodate a sick employee. 

But when the sick employee becomes a disabled employee, she's a protected class under Equal Employment law. 

Consult a HR consultant.   Plan a few steps ahead.
