It happens more often than before. Scammers turn broken items for new items. You can try to charge restocking fee. PayPal/eBay is better than Amazon because eBay needs sellers unlike Amazon. Actually these days more Amazon have more scammers than eBay. I think you have a big chance to win. Just follow the instruction to prvide all proves. Repoer fraud to eBay/Paypal. If they find you are more truthworthy, you will get your money back.
