Unfortunately, from what you said, it's clearly your
fault (though the GM car should drive defensivly and
let you finish the lane change; but it doesn't mean
he is at fault. If GM hit your rear bumper, he may
be partially at fault-- just may be.). I don't think
you have a case in court. It's better to settle
privatly.
