have more options; I can go see a house with a buyer agent and if i want to put in an offer, i'd  sign an  exclusive contract with the buyer agent specific to that house. If the deal doesn't go through, I am free to use any other agent for any other houses. I keep my options open.

like other people suggested, if you can get a buyer sign an exclusive buyer agent contract with you, go for it.
