1040 Line 66 question

My wife and I both worked in 2004 (filing a joint tax return). Our combined income was
over $87,900 (is this social security wage cap for individual or family total income ??)
and total social security tax witheld was over $5449 (social security tax cap). Can we
claim excess social security credit for the social security tax we paid over $5449.
