credit card will "chargeback" to the seller's bank account any money paid by consumer If the seller didn't deliver the goods for whatever reason.  The problem arises when seller goes bankcrupted, there might be no money in the seller's bank account for the credit card to chargeback on.   Therefore it is best to notify the credit card company as soon as possible.
