You have to report both

You are currently residents of MA, but only part year residents. Depending on how many months you lived in MA/CA, you pay different rates in both states. It is actually more complicated than it seems. There are addtional schedules and forms you need to file comparing to full year residents. I once tried to figure everything out by myself but eventually gave up because I was not good at it. I would suggest that you consult a tax preparer. It saves you a lot of time and enegy.
