1> discuss with the hopstical about the bill, telling them your financial status. If your family can be deemed as low-income, the hospital usually will deduct part of your bill. You need to do this as soon as possible. If the hospital passes the bill to a collection agent, the number cannot be changed at that time.
2> Ask both the Clinic and the hospital for your complete medical records. You have the righ to get them.
3> talk to attorneys specialized on medical malpractice, see if you have a case again the Clinic. I don't know what kind of attorneys you talked before. They may have no experience on medical malpractice cases, or they may think you have no chance to win the case. If your evidence is sufficient enough to sue the Clinic, I am sure some attorneys specialized on medical malpractice would be interested. You can retain an attorney on contingent-fee basis.Good luck!
