Some credit cards covers auto rental insurance, such as Collision Damage Waiver Program offered by visa. I have used it. Check the credit card benefit.
The liability does not cover the car, but the damage incurred on third party, such as property or personal injury.
I am afraid that if you do not have the collision waiver, you might have to pay for the car. In that case, consult with an attorney first. only use credible attorney, otherwise you might end up pay for the car as well as a hefty attorney fee.
