A car stopped at the stop sign. My son already stepped on the brake but he was too close to that car. So his car bumped the other car before it completely stopped. The driver came out telling my son there was damage on the car and my son took a look at what she pointed and told her it was not caused by him. But she demanded exchanging insurance information. Later the police came and took some pictures on the car and told my son it was minimum damage. But based on the exchange between the woman and my son, I thought the driver will make claim on the car. So I reported the accident to our insurance company after I learned of it.
Because it was my son's fault, yesterday when I called them back, in the message I apologized about the accident. In the evening the owner of the car called back and told us nobody got hurt, it was an old car and he will not make any claim, so our rate would not go up. The driver was his daughter.
Anyway it was a good lesson for my son. So he will drive more carefully in the future.
Thanks again.
