Two separate issues: the ticket and the claim by the other side. The ticket is a claim against you by the government (police), while the potential claim by the victim is a private claim against you.

You should go to court to dispute the ticket. This may have some effect on the potential private suit.

Right now there is no private suit yet. If there is, your insuarnce should take care of the coverage or the legal defense in case of going to court. If you receive a summons later, inform your insurance company. Don't worry about it right now.
