If you only claimed back the insurance premium you paid for the bank, the bank should not have sent you the 1099-MISC. This situation is equivalent to a reimbursement or they paid the bill directly (no 1099 to insurance company needed). They need to send you 1099 only if they paid you more than what you have paid for them. If you report the income on your tax return, it is hard to deduct it.
