Speeding ticket 請教

兒子前幾天因急事超速被捉，在一school zone 放學時，42 MPH in a 25 MPH school zone during posted hours while school was in session.
據說扣1點，現在的情況是： Amount of Fine/Penalty: $250.00, Court Costs: $188.00, so total $438.00. 這對他是第一次，也不會argue，其實他還是個學生，沒收入，這不是個小數目。

今天收到一律師來信： After your free consulation, if you decide to hire me, my fee for representation is $50.00 for most traffic cases in Infractions Court(1B). My fee for more serious traffic matters is set on a case by case basics and will be determined with your initial consulation.

現在該怎麽辦？如果找這個律師，是不是罰款還要交？謝謝。
