question about alimony

How long do I have to keep paying the alimony? I am in CA, I heard I have to pay half the length of the marriage last, is that the case? I have been married for 14 months, is that true I pay the alimony for next 7 months if we got divorce now? Also, for no fault divorce, normally, how does a judge split the child custody? 50:50 or the monther always gets more? Can we do like mother takes care for one year, then the father takes care for one year...
