Of course you are free to do what you like, but I don't understand why you want to avoid the service of process. You have a strong case but behave like you are in the wrong. Judges are human too, if you keep avoiding and hiding, that doesn't look good in the eyes of the judge.
If you do go to court, don't bring up the irrelevant things such as smog test and no bill of sales, go like you are a winner and bluff your way through. Be a badass.
