Normally people don't sue easily, that family is trying to sell

Suing you might complicate their effort to sell the house to other people.  If your agent is helping you to sign the release, chances are he knows the situation is under control, because you could be suing him too if things turn ugly.  My view is this drama is probably over after the seller signs the release.
