Failure to dim headlight 罰金問題請教

我剛買了新車Honda，與原來的Toyota 不太一樣。上周末晚上被警察抓住，說我failure to dim headlights，給我開了一個發單，沒寫罰金數目。我住Indiana，去網站查也沒查出罰金數額。我開車10多年，從沒有任何不良記錄。因此我想去法庭爭取免掉罰金，理由是我新買的車，不是太熟悉，我不確定打headlight，警察非說我打headlight. 我沒有任何經驗，不知道成功的機率多大。如果我得理由不合適，我該怎麽說更可能成功。請幫我看一下我的Case，任何建議都可。非常感謝！
