Once upon a time, a big public company fired an employee, the second day the employee was found to have commited the life. It was a huge shock for the community and all the employees who knew the case. The company legally might have done nothing wrong but morally it lost the trusts and respects from its employees and public. For reasons not clear,since then the company changed its policy by dismissing unqualified ones with decency and respect: pay money as normal layoff based on employment level/length etc and sure avoid further legal litigation against it.State law may permit but there is federal labor law. Otherwise all employees are vunerable.
Therefore the case could be investigated and his employer could be contacted.
