Is faked Interview Illegal

I applied for a position 2 weeks ago. I checkek the company web site, the position was removed 4 days ago. But the recuriter re-scheduled the interview yesterday for today's call. No one called me today. The recuriter did not respond to my email either. Obviously it is a faked interview.Is that illgal?
