離婚後401k怎麽辦？

有個問題請教。我和前夫協議離婚快一年了，當時說好，401k的錢各自保留各自賬戶的。我把自己401k的受益人改了。最近聽說這樣不行，需要簽一份什麽文件。是這樣嗎？什麽文件呢？ 需要請律師嗎？謝謝。
