First sorry about typing in English. It is just a lot faster.
About 10 years ago, we bought a brand new house from a builder. After we moved in, there were numerous problems - roof, window, plumbing.... During the first year, the builder was quite responsive at fixing the problems.
There is a big half moon shaped window in the study that leaked everytime when it rained. It was fixed (or attempted to fix) by the window subcontractor many times. They even tore out the whole window and the bricks around it twice and still couldn't fix the problem. We had to leave the room vacant for two years. After about 10 times, the builder just told us that we should expect it to leak if the wind speed is over 30 mph. We were quite dumbfounded. We live in Texas, most of time the wind speed is over 30 mph.
Another big one is that after two years, we had problems with plumbing. Toilet, wash machine kept backing up. At first, we thought my little son might have thrown some toys in the toilet and plugged up the drain. So we called the plumber. Guess what - the drain from our house to the city was not connected 8 feet down the ground. The builder tried to deny the responsibility since it is out of one year and it is not structural.
After many failed attempts to communicate with the builder, we finally wrote to our local news reporter Marvin Zindler, who was famous for fighting for consumers. His team contacted the builder. The builders attitude changes 180 degrees. They fixed everything, including the window after the 20th attempt. We were given life time warranty for the window and extended warranty for everything else.
