急. 怎麽爭取到房子下水道修複慘重損失的賠償?- 怎麽與公共服務部門(city or sewer service dept)辯理?

 

04/21房子下水道堵了. 請plumber 通. 發現有石子堵在driveway下麵的下水道裏.估計公共street 下水道管裂了.

1. 給city打電話, city 不負責, 但要求我們買permit並交押金$1650才可挖street.

2. 給sewer service dept打電話, 他們也不負責- the home owner is responsible for the line from the property to the mainline.

 

04/25 driveway 和street 挖開, 石子取出, 下裂的水道管換好了. plumber當時估價$12K.

3. plumber請sewer dept inspector 檢查, 沒通過. Inspector 講- pipe is back pitched.  The pipe should pitch from the house toward the main line, but it is not pitched correctly.  He would not let us pass the inspection unless the pitch is corrected. 

 

4. plumber 必須挖掘所有從我房子到 mainline sewer 經過street 並且到街對麵鄰居家

的草坪共100 feet. 此時估價升到 $20K

5.我們還要負責修複street, 鄰居家的草坪和我家driveway. 總共需要$35K現金.

 

麵對修複的慘重損失,我們財力窘迫, 不知如何爭取到賠償? 保險公司?如果保險公司不負責.

我認為公共服務部門(city or sewer service dept)有負責, pipe is back pitched 的原因

是什麽?        為什麽street 下水道管裂了?

我房子地勢低,下雨後總有水堆積在street上, 有相片. 給city打電話幾次. 沒人管.長期以來水壓造成street 下水道管裂.
