help! Black heart hospital and dr.

我一個朋友不小心懷孕，然後選擇流產，現在剛受到醫院的賬單，竟然要$15，000美元醫院帳單，而且保險公司不支付這份支出，因為不是medically necessary。她隻是在醫院呆2-3小時作手術，怎麽會有這麽多錢？
另外，麻醉帳單是1500 美元,保險公司付$350, this is all paid by insurance。醫生那邊還是個未知數。
之前她也不知道保險公司不付，之前，保險公司同意手術，但是沒有說要付多少，(payemnt determination upon receive claims.) 醫生也沒有事先說。醫院原來告訴隻需要付250美元，現在醫院要我的朋友自己支付。
請問，姐妹們有過這樣的經曆嗎？請給些建議。謝謝！！She is asking the hospital to provide detailed bills. Other than that, what can she do?
