If something happens, even if your friends and/or anybody's insurance companies cover it,  chances are that YOUR car insurance premium will go up. Also think about all the headaches and discomfort among friends. Why take the risk. Have them rent a car. If I were your friends I would not even think about the possibility of driving your car. It is not worth saving a few bucks for.
